DARING TO JOIN
A groundbreaking event is due to take place this weekend. Some Melbourne Uniting Church clergy will defy the national organisation’s opposition to blessing gay and lesbian relationships at a service for same-sex couples later on Saturday. HUMAN RIGHTS PUSH
Recently Federal Attorney-General, Robert McClelland introduced legislation to establish a parliamentary committee specifically to judge whether Australian laws breach international human rights standards.
A group lobbying for equal marriage argues the ban on same sex couples marrying is one of the laws that does, and plans to present their case to the committee, as Alex Greenwich will explain. Really Long Link
