ELECTION MISCELLANY
This week we’ll be talking to three very different candidates in this weekends state election.
Peter Chandler is standing for Labor in Box Hill, which is held by Robert Clark, the Shadow Attorney General who thinks gays and lesbians are like people with spina bifida. What does Peter think?
Christian Vega is standing for the Australian Sex Party in Prahran, where Labour and Liberal are neck and neck, and preferences could make all the difference.
And Brian Walters is the Greens candidate for Melbourne. Although the Liberal preference deal with Labor is making his task more difficult, he’s still tipped to take the seat from Bronwyn Pike.
OLD NEW BROOM @ JOY
Last weekend was the Joy Annual General Meeting, at which we elected a new Board of Directors. Our new Broadcast Manager was also revealed, and it’s DJ and party promoter Dean Murphy. Dean has been our daytime program manager once before but now he returns. Dean has also been my guest on Digging Deeper before too, and today we’re giving you a second chance to get better acquainted with the man who will guide the Joy onair sound for the next couple of years. Digging Deeper with Dean Murphy at 10.
ALSO CARELESS?
If you read the gay press, you may have seen a letter taking the board of the ALSO Foundation to task for the way they’ve been managing ALSO and ALSO Care. I’ll be talking to the writer of that letter, Geoff Richards, and to the President of the ALSO Foundation, Jason Rostant.
WRITING THEMSELVES IN 3
We’ve a report by Bianca Johnston from the launch of the Writing Themselves In Again 3 report, and the latest from Gay Dads Australia with James Cristoffels.
All on Freshly Doug this Thursday.
