Freshly Doug August 19
On this weeks show . . . . . . what about the I in GLBTI, Greens set to win big, Anglicare against same-sex adoption, Victorian campaign for same-sex adoption, and Gay Dads get together. All this and more Thursday 9-Noon
PUTTING THE I IN GLBTI
We always talk about the GLBTI community, but the community is undoubtedly dominated by the G and the L – and sometimes, even the L feel a bit left out.
Recent legal changes over the past year or two have benefitted gays and lesbians significantly, but trans folk, who nowadays prefer to be known as Sex and Gender Diverse, or SGD for short, have been left behind.
Even further behind come the people we rather loosely characterise as Intersex, people who do not fit easily if at all into the two gender boxes, male or female.
We’ll explore this with Gina from the Australian arm of Organisation Intersex International, or OII for short.
GREENER THAN JUST MELBOURNE
Andrew Potts on how things are looking really good for the Greens, it's not impossible that they might grab Sydney or Grayndler as well as Melbourne and maybe a couple of seats in Tassie too.
GUY BLACKMAN
On Digging Deeper this week, between 10 and 11, you’ll get to know musician and music label boss Guy Blackman.
ANGLICARE-ING? NOT VERY
The Anglican Church’s welfare arm, Anglicare recently wrote to NSW MP’s, urging them to vote against a bill that will allow same-sex couples to adopt children. Michael Colling, the Director of Schools Out is not happy.
