TONY ABBOTT
Leader of the Opposition Tony Abbott joins us here on Freshly Doug for an extended interview, to talk direct to the GLBTI community about his attitude, and about what we might expect from an Abbott-led government.
When asked about his attitude to homosexuality, who said “I’d probably say I feel a bit threatened… as so many people.” ?
And then later ‘clarified his comments by saying, “There is no doubt that it challenges, if you like, orthodox notions of the right order of things."
His comments met with a storm of criticism from the gay community, and our disquiet was conveyed to him in a recent meeting with Australian Coalition for Equality spokesperson, Corey Irlam.

Well Done in getting Mr Abbott for an interview, Don't forget to mention to him that Most Australians as per galaxy poll which let me add was Mr Howard's favourite polling organisation support anti Discrimination legislation (85%) and Equal Marriage (60%) rights.
Can you ask him that a party that believes in limited government and personal freedom why does it not support equality much more as the gay rights should fit perfectly within the liberal party Philosophy.
