Dr Darren Russell, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health at The University of Melbourne and Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University, President of the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he has worked in the field of HIV medicine for 19 years.
He joins us to talk about ATRIPLA, a pill combining 3 anti-HIV drugs in 1 pill.
Harley Dennett, former newsman from the Sydney Star Observer, now based in Washington DC, with a report on the final lifting of the travel ban on people with HIV.
Arsham Parsi, the founder of the Iranian Queer Railroad, which helps LGBT/queer Iranians who flee their country because of the violently homo- and transphobic policies. While still living in Iran, Arsham founded the first Iranian gay group called the Iranian Queer Organization - IRQO (formerly Persian Gay and Lesbian Organization - PGLO). With police on his trail because of his gay activism, Arsham fled to Turkey in 2005, where he continued his work to publicize the plight of LGBT Iranians. He was eventually granted asylum in Canada.
My special guest on Digging Deeper is Heather Birch, a life member of the ALSO Foundation, en enthusiastic singer in the Gay & Lesbian Choir and expert in GLBTI Ageing. She has given conference presentations around Australia and in San Francisco on the subject, and sits on the Ministerial advisory committee.
