FRESHLY DOUG THURSDAY DEC 17 2009
Remember how Leonie Young, CEO of beyondblue, told us on this program that they were turing over a new leaf with regards to their relations with our community? Well it hasn’t quite worked out that way, so far.
There's a round table with beyondblue taking place at the airport hotel today, but Rob Mitchell of the RJM Trust wasn't invited, so instead he's here to take up the story for us.
SMS 0427 JOY 949, that’s 0427 569 949, or twitter @freshlydoug.
We did a special on GLBTI ageing a short while ago, but one gap in the lineup was Peter Dickson from Linton Estates, the GLBTI elder housing project in Ballan, near Daylesford. He’s here this morning with his architect to give us an update on progress.
Gays and lesbians in the USA were celebrating this week as Annise Parker became the first out gay mayor of a major US city. Ms Parker was elected Mayor of Houston, Texas, not renowned for being the most gay friendly of places. She joins us live on the line from Houston to tell us how she did it.
As always between 10 and 11 I spend an hour with someone special. Today’s guest is Richard Watts, former editor of MCV, former chair of the Fringe Festival, and many many more community credentials.
And as usual Andrew Potts of the Southern Star and Sydney Star Observer will drop by, and we’ll take our regular look at the world of theatre with Will Conyers.
As always, feel free to join in, 0427 JOY 949. SMS 0427 JOY 949 (repeat). You can also Twitter @freshlydoug with any questions, comment.
