Movie to be made about Sydney Gang rapists

It's been revealed that a movie called Wrong Girls, which will focus on a Sydney gang rape in 2000 led by brothers, Bilal and Mohamed Skaf, is currently in pre production and will begin shooting as early as next month.
The rape was one in a series of attacks in which four women were gang raped in threee separate incidents with Bilal Skaf recieving 55 years jail but that was later reduced on appeal.
The movie directed by Michael Jenkins (well known for his crime mini series Blue Murder) will direct Wrong Girls which is expected to focus on a Sydney teenager who was gang raped by 14 men 25 times over 6 hours.
So far the film has recieved $51,000 funding from the NSW State Government and the Federal Governments with $21,000 coming from the purse strings of the NSW Film and Television Office with Deputy NSW Premier, John Watkins claiming he was unaware that the NSW Government had given money to the making of the film but he says he is dismayed that such a film is being made
The NSW Rape Crisis Centre said that the making of the film would only trigger the pain felt by all victims of sexual assault while Opposition shadow minister for Police, Mike Gallacher has also questioned the making of fhe fllm, calling it a waste of money and says that the money could be used in other areas and essential services.

This is an awful waste of money...what sick person would want to go and watch a film about a couple of criminals who deserve to rot in jail? It defies belief that ANY government would contribute money to the making of such an awful sounding movie...there are so many things that the State and Federal Governments could have done with that money eg: health, water, the drought etc. One question also has to be asked who gave the rubber stamps for funding to be given to this movie?

Australia Day: Time to Reflect

So another Australia Day is here and yet again it is time to reflect on the good and the bad that is Australia in the last year.
There is no doubt that Australia has changed a lot in the last year, we are definitely confused about what sort of identity Australia should portray to the world (That was brought to light by the Cronulla Riots and the revenge attacks after it) a couple of years ago, Itherefore people are more protective of the Australian flag eg: Look at the campaign Channel 7's Today Tonight is running...it'll be on their Australia day edition tonight.

Mr Howard's new water plan

We have had a rarity in Australian politics today. Prime Minister, John Howard made his Australia Day address today (it seems bit strange to do it on the day before Australia day) whiuch included a major announcement in relation to water basically what it involves is the Federal Government taking control of the Murray Darling river system from the State governments of New South Wales, Victoria and I think South Australia that look after it and bringing water in from the north. This plan will cost up to $10 billion dollars. The Prime Minister has already gotten support from the Labor Premier of New South Wales, Morris Iemma and the Federal Opposition leader, Kevin Rudd (which is the rarity, it's not often that Prime Minister Howard and Kevin Rudd agree on something) but the PM might not get support from the Victorian premier, Steve Bracks.
It's about time someone said "Right, let's do something about our water crisis" and I do wonder what sort of game the Victorian premier is playing because Australians are sick and tired of politicians on both sides (State and Federal) playing the game of political points scoring in relation to this issue, frankly something should have been done a long time ago in relation to the issue of water but most of the politicians were more interested in political points scoring which I find mind blowing and they are STILL at it eg: Malcom Turnbull who cancelled a NSW Government $50 million dollar (mind you, I think it was in relation to the desalination plant at Kurnell in Sydney's south and I don't support desalination plants at all...they are full of CO2 emissions and with climate change such a big issue, I think it's a problem)
Congratulations to Mr Rudd for supporting this new water plan and not being political...the only ones who will try to turn it into political points scoring are the Greenies and environmentalists who are very precious..let's just remember who is responsible for some of these bushfires next time
